The 100% tariff on Chinese EVs allows American car and light truck manufacturers to raise their prices. The Chevy Equinox EV price announcement is the first of what likely will be many price increases to come from Detroit and the other U.S. based manufacturers. Chinese EV manufacturers can be expected to quickly open up plants in Mexico, U.S. or Canada to avoid the tariffs. These moves will help the North American economy.
