They say, "It's a thumbs up to the 2025 Forester here."
The redesigned 2025 Forester features a new exterior design with Subaru's latest infotainment system, quieter cabin, and EyeSight safety technology. There's a lot more than that. You can read my report here.
More New 2025 Forester Details
With a little more digging, I discovered the new, completely redesigned Forester may be better to lease than you think.
CarsDirect says, "Based on incentive bulletins sent to dealers, 2025 Subaru Forester lease prices will start at $329 per month in many parts of the country, just $10 more than the outgoing SUV."
Should You Buy Or Lease A New Forester?
Here's why CarsDirect says leasing a 2025 Subaru Forester compact SUV could be a good idea.
To start, the 2025 Subaru Forester is listed at $329 for 36 months, with $3,229 due at signing. That's based on an allowance of 10,000 miles per year and an effective cost of $419 monthly, excluding taxes and fees.
"For the money, we consider it a decent deal, given the vehicle's MSRP of $31,090 with destination."
The New Forester Is $10 More Than 2024 Models
CarsDirect says that at that price, the payment for the 2025 Subaru Forester is just $10 more than that of the previous generation. The 2024 Forester is listed at $319 in most parts of the country, with $2,734 at signing. "Having said that, while the payment is nearly identical, the amount due at signing makes last year's version a little more affordable."
"The 2024 Forester's effective cost comes out to $395 per month. While the outgoing model is cheaper, some shoppers may find the redesign worth the extra $24 per month."
CarsDirect says even though the 2025 Subaru Forester has no lease cash to help with the price, the new compact SUV benefits from a 36-month residual value of 71%. "We think there may be room for improvement, though, given that the underlying money factor is 0.00280, or 6.7% APR. 2025 Subaru Forester financing deals remain unknown at this time."
"At $419 per month, the effective cost of the 2025 Subaru Forester is just $3 more than that of a Honda CR-V LX ($416). Still, the lack of a hybrid could give it a big disadvantage versus models like the Honda CR-V Hybrid and Toyota RAV4 Hybrid."
What is the 2025 Forester pricing?
The 2025 Forester has five trim levels: Base ($31,090), Premium ($33,390), Sport ($35,890), Limited ($37,390), and Touring ($38,490). Pricing includes destination and dealer fees ($1,395).
The 2024 Forester Wilderness carries over with a starting price of $36,265. Destination and Delivery ($1,345)
If you don't want to wait for the 2025 Forester, some Subaru retailers still have some 2024 models. It's the best deal now.
Subaru of America offers 72-month financing on the hot 2024 Subaru Forester compact SUV. Subaru offers Forester financing with a 2.9% APR for 72 months. The payment is $319/month for 36 months, with $2,760 due. No down payment is required.
As I've reported previously, a new Forester Hybrid will arrive one year from now. It will be built in America for the first time.

Subaru President and CEO Atsushi Osaki said the company will begin building the next-generation Forester and a new Hybrid compact SUV at its U.S. plant for the first time.
Scott Brand, President and Chief Operating Officer Subaru of Indiana Automotive told me," We're excited about Subaru Corporation's decision to build the Forester at our facility. Once again, they've demonstrated their confidence in our associates to build the company's most popular models. We take pride in these opportunities to remain a key contributor to the brand's continued success."
What Does It Mean For Customers?
More than half the vehicles Subaru sells in the U.S. are imported, including the top-selling Forester. Now, customers in North America will be able to get the new Forester and Forester Hybrid more quickly since it doesn't have to be shipped from Japan.
