I have followed Subaru for almost 50 years and have recommended them to friends and family even though I never purchased one until 3 months ago, an Outback Limited turbo. It is a handsome car, comfortable once you are in and competent on the road. There are, however, several issues that I feel should be addressed before I would give it a 5-star rating. It is difficult to get into, especially if your garage isn't ample. Also, getting to your seat belt as a driver requires twisting your body in an unnatural position to grasp it. Sight lines are nebulous in front. It is hard to tell where the car begins. Also, the shifter is counter intuitive, having to push away the shifter to put into drive, and why the gas filler was placed on the right side of the car is incomprehensible to me. The car is marketed as a SUV, in reality it is a wagon. The seats would be so much more comfortable and accessible if they were one to two inches higher. The glove box is small. It barely holds more than the manual. Accessories are very expensive as well. I believe adding a CD player would cost nearly seven hundred dollars to install it. I feel the electronics are sometimes annoying as well. Once something is turned off it should stay off. Everytime I start the car I have to reset them. Finally, the seats and the steering wheel feel like plastic.II am not a fan of TOM TOM, Garmin is in my opinion more accurate and simpler. I have not had any need for service yet, but do appreciate the service offered for two years. I also appreciate the fit and finish of the inside, as well as the attention to the body details. I look forward to years of pleasurable motoring with my Sube, but wish some of these issues would have been better thought out. Actually, I would have loved love to give Subaru a five-star rating, but four is the best I can do. Thank you!

PS: I think Toyotas are fine cars, too, but they are overpriced and overrated. I think it is time Subaru was given the credit it deserves.
