"The auto start-stop has a sensor to determine if the ambient temperature outside the vehicle exceeds the temperature inside. If it is, the car engine will not shut off." This is absolutely not the case with my 2021 Forester. I guarantee you I'm not keeping the inside of my car at 90-100 degrees here in the summer, and the car regularly auto stops if I forget to disable it every time I start the car. I'll also echo the concerns about the stopping causing safety concerns when I need to move quickly from a paused position and that it has on several occasions caused the whole car to shut down and have to be put in park and restarted--not safe.
