I continue to drive a 2006 Subaru Forester XT that I purchased new. As the miles rack up (approaching 350,000 miles), fourteen years without a car payment have provided funds to meticulously maintain my Forester and add performance upgrades. It has some dings and scratches but still looks and drives great. I like my little sports wagon more than any of the somewhat comparable new models. This helps assuage my previously strong desire to routinely purchase a new vehicle.
