After the dismal experience with the solterra I would not imagine for a second that Subaru would go and turn the Ascent into an EV.
It's hard enough to build a tiny econo-box EV, a 3-row SUV for people hauling their family around in? Physics just aren't going to play along there.

Ascent is already a low-volume vehicle. Subaru's primary purpose for it is to have an option for current Subaru owners with growing families to stay in the family instead of pushing them to Toyota or Kia or something.
