My 2022 Platinum Hybrid engine seized on July 19th, 2024 while I was at highway speeds!
The dealership has been great, giving me a rental vehicle that suited my needs since the engine seized. The biggest complaint is that the dealership is not getting updates from Toyota Canada with ETA's on the replacement pieces. They replaced the short block back in Oct, thought they nailed it...gave it back to me only to have the transmission die within 20miles of driving. It's back in the shop and they have to replace both the engine and the transmission now. What a gong show.
I asked about them taking the truck back, as I had only had it for 11 months...no offer aside from a low ball trade in to buy a much more expensive replacement truck.
