First, 35s absolutely serve a purpose. My 2019 is leveled and on 35s on stick 20" rims. I drive off-road and through miles and miles of deep soft sand on Texas beaches. That extra 1.5" of ground clearance is sometimes critical in being to where to want to go. It also makes more a smoother ride. Acceleration is negligibly different and a tune from 5 Star can remedy any slight reduction, by giving you much better than stock performance and driveability by signing both the shift points and speedometer to the tire size you've chosen. By updating the shift points, your transmission won't suffer any excess wear and over 5 years having my truck I've seen zero additional wear on any suspension components.
