I was a Toyota dealership service Mgr. It was a union shop, so the techs were guaranteed 35hrs a week. We still had to follow an accepted flat rate guide for customer paid service work. Warranty repair time allowances were not out of line in my opinion. Additional diagnostic time was allowed as well as additional time for rust problems. An "a" level qualified tech can make 45/hr.
