I bought a used 2021 Toyota Sienna in August 2024. After three months the remote start suddenly stopped working. After a ton of hassle and confusion, I was ultimately told the same thing, that I now have to pay monthly for it. I called the dealership and told them what I thought about that. Of course the salesperson didn’t say anything when I bought it. The remote start and heated seats were the top two features my wife wanted with the car. I got the dealership to agree to splitting the cost of installing a third party remote start in the car. Cheap bastards, they misled me during the purchase and now can’t muster the full $400 to make it right. Awful, sleazy, cowardly, and incompetent behavior on Toyota’s part. The dollars don’t matter, this is fully about the principle, I just don’t know why they can’t see that. The message I’m getting is they don't really care about me as a customer. They sort of care, since they’re paying half, but only because I twisted their arm. Imagine negotiating to save yourself $200 when you were fully in the wrong. Despicable.
