During Covid, key fobs were in short supply. I was entitled to two fobs when I bought my new car, but got only one. When My Toyota dealer told me that they had a fob for me, I made an appointment to include the free first scheduled servicing. When I showed up, there was no fob available. The dealer wanted to perform the other services so that they could be reimbursed by Toyota, so they lied to me about having a fob just to get me into their dealership.
