Maybe it's because he recognizes that the Y refresh isn't actually that much of a change? If you loved the Y before, you'll probably still love the new Y. But if you didn't love the old Y, the new one isn't going to do anything for you. And if you liked the Y, but are tired of seeing them everywhere, and don't want a car that looks like every other Y in the parking lot, the new one also isn't going to please you.
