No. A calculation of 1 to 2% is perhaps accurate for the weight reduction, but there is also less sidewall stiffness and that will reduce efficiency when acceleration and in maintaining relatively constant speed. A constant speed requires constant acceleration. I doubt there is actually any mileage gain at all.
