Sounds odd. We were on a road trip once and after several hundred miles I carelessly tried the diesel nozzle in our Lumina and it would not fit. Not even close. When I a teen, I helped my dad transplant a diesel engine into his Ford pickup. He had to modify it to accept a diesel nozzle. If I were this person I would be irritated that it fit.
