You've been manipulated by years of anti EV FUD from the oil corrupted party, movement, and media complex that pushes your buttons.
Among their tricks are a distorted and disproportionate focus on EV problems (think like obsessively hyping Japanese old ladies commiting crimes while die playing or even stubbornly ignoring the far more common and likely crimes from other groups). Which is why people like you think EVs are more likely to break down or catch fire when the factual reality is that the opposite is true.
Most importantly of all you are emotionally manipulated to WANT to believe negative claims about EVs because they have been constantly presented to you as something for and from despised and scorned political and cultural groups. Being pro EV is portrayed as a betrayal of your values and community, a sellout to the enemy, while mocking EVs and parroting false narratives about them becomes a ritual to demonstrate your loyalty and virtue.
Against these deep emotional forces, it's almost impossible for facts to make headway. All I can do is point out to you that a lot of clever people have put in a lot of time and expensive effort to make you as emotionally hostile to EVs as possible. Why, if the cold hard facts proved EVs to be inferior, would whipping you up like that be necessary? Think about it, and think for yourself. It's OK. You won't become a lib. I'm not.
