It has recently been learned that lithium batteries will last considerably longer (more charge cycles) when charged to only 80 percent. When consumers clamor for longer battery life versus maximum capacity per charge, manufacturer's opt for reducing the maximum charge. This has been an issue with cellphones for awhile now. I see this as an issue for which customers should have a choice, higher capacity or longer battery life. You just can't have it both ways.
