I’ve always had VW and in 2021 bought a Subaru forester. For camping, off-roading, hiking and your best furry friends , best
size hands down . Drives great, dependable. I didn’t even consider the crosstreck if anything I moved up this year to the outback . My suggestion is go back and try out the forester. Sad you overlooked it.
