I ordered a 2021 RAV4 prime in 2019 anticipating $5 per gallon gas prices here in California. I paid sticker and waited one year for the car to come from Japan. With federal tax incentives and state rebate, the car cost me about $37,000 out of pocket after a 10% sales tax. It was the best move I ever made, the car was worth more than I paid as soon as I drove it off the lot. I had a 2000 V6 Camry for 20 years, and this car actually has as much power but with all the modern bells and whistles. I am very thankful that I got lucky. I would consider a Honda or other cars, but I've had very good luck with Toyota and especially the RAV.
