It makes you wonder why we've had to wait so many years for something that seemingly makes so much sense, a diesel engine on a hybrid platform. It's one of the perfect match, that and using a turbine on a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

What is even better about this concept is that it takes what the German do best, diesel engines and couples that technology to a hybrid drivetrain makes it a very efficient car. Now when will we see a plug-in hybrid version?
