>> The LEAF fast charging capability can take the car from zero charge to 80% in under 30 minutes, and to top the battery pack off requires the remaining 20% to be performed with a regular EVSE.

A clarification to the word "requires" above?

This owner of a 2015 Base S with 24 kW battery has access to two Nissan dealers with Chademo fast chargers. Both will take the Leaf to 100%, but there is a definite "taper" as the battery gets fuller.

At about 60 deg F and with the battery under 40% SOC, my vehicle will draw about 45 kW from an ABB fast charger rated at 50 kW/hr. That tapered to about 35 kW/hr at 60%, about 15 kW/hr at 80%, and about 6 kW/hr at 90%. From 90% to 100%, the Level-2 charger seems at least as fast at charging as the Chademo, but battery cell balancing may be a factor.

Note: I probably should get a Leaf-Spy + dongle to get more precise measurements.
