Yes, I know about that history, 20 years ago I worked for a company that made both TCP/IP and ISO software stacks for several operating systems. It's a good thing that TCP/IP won... but that was at the cost of Microsoft making a decision, by fiat, to put TCP/IP into Windows, and that decision resulted in the death of a group of TCP/IP providers.
