This well-written explains why I believe the following must be national priorities:
1. Establish a fast-charge protocol
2. Install plentiful fast-chargers
3. Enable a reservation system for all charging stations

I will note that, unsurprisingly, Tesla is ahead of the curve in undertaking exactly these three measures.
