Ron Capps and his Don Schumacher Racing Dodge Charger R/T funny car grabbed their third win of the 2018 this past weekend in North Carolina, moving him into the third spot in the championship battle with just two races left on the season.

The supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi from the Dodge Challenger, the Dodge Charger and the Jeep Grand Cherokee has already brought in more than $3 billion through the first four model years of availability and that number is going to keep climbing over the next few years.

Robert Hight drove his Chevrolet Camaro funny to to win #3 of the 2018 season this past weekend at the AAA Insurance Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park in Illinois, propelling him into the top spot in the championship race, but the big win had a scary ending – with Hight’s race car exploding as it crossed the finish line.

The team at ClassicCars.com has announced that the most commonly-searched car in their most recent collection of data was the 1969 Dodge Charger, with the Mopar muscle car beating last year’s winner – the Ford Mustang – by a narrow margin.

FCA is recalling 4.8-million vehicles including the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Chrysler 300, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500 and several other popular models over a concern that the cruise control system could get stuck in the set position and it will not shut off – potentially leading to an accident if the system will not deactivate as expected.

Dodge has revealed the grille of the 2019 Hellcat Charger and while much of what we can see in this image appears to be the same as the current version, the new model year has an added air inlet port in the grille right next to the driver’s side headlight – likely funneling fresh air towards the supercharged Hemi.

Spy shots floating around the internet show what appears to be a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat with heavy camouflage on the front end – suggesting that the highest performance sedan in America might soon be getting a facelift.

The sales numbers for April 2018 are in and for the second month in a row, the Ford Mustang has beaten the Dodge Challenger to lead the muscle car segment, with the Chevrolet Camaro being absent from this piece due to GM’s new reporting system.

The 2018 Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida saw a final round battle between the Don Schumacher Racing Dodge Charger funny cars of Jack Beckman and Matt Hagan, with “Fast Jack” grabbing his first win of the season.
