Ford has recalled about 17,000 F-150 Lightning electric trucks to repair a problem with the rear lightbar. Microcracks in the outer lenses of the backup and brake lights can let moisture invade the fixture and can cause shorting, which, in turn, can cause the lights to flicker or die out.

Sometimes recalls can continue through several cycles. For example, last summer, Ford Escape, Mavericks, and Lincoln Corsairs were recalled for possible underhood fires due to engine bay problems that allowed flammable brake fluid to spray onto hot engines causing possible underhood fires. Ford hasn't issued a "do not drive notice" for these vehicles but has told owners to park them in the open.

With the recent news that both Ford and GM have elected to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for fast, 400V or level 3, electric vehicle (EV) charging, the effort to electrify the American auto fleet has reached a turning point. I think NACS has won the fight and the other fast charging standards will be phased out.

Ford may be planning to bring an all new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicle to the US market by sometime next year, following or perhaps prior to its release in Australia. That vehicle would be the Ford Ranger PHEV, a category of electrified vehicle that presently has no models on sale in the US market which means Ford would have the market to itself, if it decides to sell it here.
