All Michigan Secretary of State branch offices and the Office of the Great Seal will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Licenses and plates that expire that day can be renewed the following day without penalty

So far, Ford Motor Company has offered up a look at the F Series pickups, the Explorers, the Foci and the Fiestas that will be decked out for the 2011 SEMA Show but since no performance show would be complete with the mighty Mustang – today we have a preview of the Ford muscle cars headed to the Las Vegas show next week.

Ford is going to make the classic much loved 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible available again to the buying public. There is one little hitch... you provide the engine, transmission, interior, electronics, brakes, suspension, and trim. Ford just gives you the body.

Ford’s MyKey technology will have a new feature added to SYNC so parents (who have enough to worry about when they hand their keys to a teenager) can block incoming phone calls and deter text messages while teens are behind the wheel. This will make the Do Not Disturb feature, available on all 2011 vehicles with SYNC and MyFord Touch, available as a parental control through MyKey when the new Explorer rolls out in early 2012.

The five finalists for the 2012 Green Car of the Year have been announced with the field reduced to the: 2012 Ford Focus Electric, 2012 Mitsubishi i, the 2012 Honda Civic CNG, the 2012 Volkswagen Passat TDI and the 2012 Toyota Prius V. The winner will be announced at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show on Nov. 17.
