After opening at the end of March, it took almost three months before Tesla was able to report the first milestone for its German Gigafactory in Grünheide near Berlin: for the first time, 1000 Model Y units were produced within a week, the company announced in mid-June. Since then, rumors of further increases have been heard again and again, and on Saturday the next round number became official: in the past week, 2000 Model Y were produced in the German factory, Tesla announced again via Twitter.

Last night the "Tesla IA Day" event took place in Palo Alto, California, where the Austin EV manufacturer officially presented its advances and improvements in artificial intelligence and robotics, and where the general public was able to directly see a working prototype of Optimus, the humanoid robot with which Elon Musk wants to somehow alleviate many of the burdens of heavy or repetitive everyday tasks for human factory workers.
