Level 5 full self-driving is when a car no longer needs human attention to drive anywhere. Essentially, the car can make decisions about how to drive from one location to another without any need for human intervention. Today, we are at around level 2 or 3. How far away are we as a society from this? Is it months, years, or decades? What are the implications? Let's see!

It will speed up production, reduce costs, and give Tesla a competitive advantage. Tesla is making cars the same way toy cars are manufactured with automation and it's like 3D printing! At the end of Q1, 2021, Tesla showed just over $17 billion in cash. This is down from just over $19 billion in the prior quarter due to Tesla buying $1.5 billion in Bitcoin. This is a lot of money. The Ford Mustang Mach E is no slouch on the track. Even its non GT version puts most SUVs to shame with a blistering 5.1-second 0-60 and its GT Performance Edition tears down the track with an even more impressive 3.5 second sprint from stop to 60 miles per hour. With such speeds, how does it compare to its competition like the Polestar 2, XC40 Recharge, muscle cars, like my Challenger, or even the Jeep Wrangler 4xe?

When I think of SUVs, I think of vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco, or Mercedes G-wagon. I typically don’t give much thought to Volvo, but I really should. Volvo’s XC40 Recharge is not just a handsome SUV, it’s got plenty of features that make it one of the safest SUVs on the market, and it’s faster than the Volkswagen ID.4.

Yesterday, Ford unveiled their entry into the EV Truck market, the F-150 Lightning. Many fans were less than enthusiastic about the reported 300 mile range, but in 2014 BMW gave us something that eases those worries substantially; a petrol fueled Range Extender.
