Ford has offered up a video that talks about high performance in a way that leads me to believe that this is the first official teaser for the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, including a reference to the date of November 17th, 2014 – leading me to believe that the next generation Super-Stang will make its world debut in a few weeks.

After hearing a rumor on the internet that over 5,000 examples of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat I checked with the folks at the Chrysler Group and they have confirmed that more than 5,000 orders have indeed been received for the 707hp Mopar muscle car.

I frequently see people posting on forums and social networks about how muscle cars should only be offered with V8 engines, but production statistics for the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro paint a very clear picture as to why all three American automakers offer their muscle cars with smaller engines in addition to the powerful V8.

The 2015 Ford Mustang will almost surely be the belle of the ball for the 2014 SEMA Show and the latest next gen pony car teaser comes from the folks at Classic Design Concepts, who will be showing off two versions of their new Outlaw package for the 2015 Mustang in Vegas – one of which will be on display in the official Ford Motor Company area.

I recently had a chance to spend a day driving the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat on roads around Washington DC as well as on a road course in West Virginia and this seat time confirmed that not only is the Hellcat Charger the most powerful and the fastest stock 4-door sedan in the world – it is dollar for dollar the best sport sedan in the world.

The next generation Chevrolet Camaro is expected to arrive for the 2016 model year after a Detroit debut in January, but I don’t think that we will see any premium performance models until after the high volume models have hit showrooms – unless GM has a monster Camaro that will challenge Dodge’s Hellcat.

The Chrysler Group had suspended production of the Dodge Viper a few months back when inventory levels were reaching extremely high levels, but the new pricing schedule has improved sales enough that the company will begin production of the 2015 Viper in November – although only the less expensive models will be built at first.

General Motors has issued a pair of recalls for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray due to two separate and unrelated safety risks that were initially the cause for a stop sale order when the 2015 models first began reaching dealerships last month, but around 900 examples of the affected Corvettes did reach consumers so a recall was necessary.
