Today in a Twitter video Tesla discussed 3 Autopilot features and improvements that helped the Model 3 earn top 5-star Euro NCAP safety ratings yesterday. Here are those features.
It's obvious Tesla engineers leverage the data and capabilities of Autopilot to make accident-avoidance a reality. I have been a critique of Tesla's Autopilot and still stress that it's not a hand-free feature: at least not yet. However, with recent Autopilot improvements my view is slowly and cautiously shifting. It's better to have an improved Autopilot than a non-perfect one.
So, yesterday Tesla Model 3 earned top safety ratings from the European car assessment program Euro NCAP, which provides consumer information on the safety of new cars.

Tesla Model 3 features that increase its safety ratings
1. Emergency Lane Departure Avoidance applies corrective steering if it detects the driver is drifting into another lane with oncoming traffic.
2. Autopilot can also prevent a car from drifting towards a cliff by automatically guiding the car back into its lane.
3. Tesla’s next generation automatic emergency braking system can even stop a car from hitting a pedestrian or a cyclist.

Tesla also stated on its Twitter page that "All drivers need to pay attention and no car can prevent all accidents, but these features help make driving safer every day."
I am just wondering why the color in the footage looks off. Has some kind of filter been applied to aid the autopilot system? If not, would the poor color in camera affect FSD response to color critical items such as traffic lights when it's rolled out? These are questions raise under Tesla's tweet and I want to raise them here too. What do you think? Please, share your comments below for discussion.
See you in the next story.
