GMC is the official vehicle manufacturer of the National Football League and today General Motors announced that the company would be donating 70 tickets to Super Bowl XLV to the United Way.

These tickets will be bundled into packages of two and auctioned off with the proceeds going to support the United Way’s youth health and awareness programs. In addition to the two Super Bowl XLV tickets, the packages will include a 4 night stay at an NFL approved hotel (probably somewhere pretty nice), an invite to a meet and greet with former NFL’ers, an NFL gift bag, player memorabilia and $100 gift cards for the NFLShop.com.

Craig Bierley, director, Buick GMC Advertising and Sales Promotion, had this to say about this auction program from GMC:
“GMC is excited about teaming up with the United Way to send 70 lucky NFL fans to the biggest event in professional sports. Being the official vehicle of the NFL, GMC shares the never-say-never attitude that gets teams to the top and helps communities stay strong.”

General Motors expects the auction of these 35 Super Bowl XLV packages to raise over a quarter of a million dollars; an average of roughly $7,200 per package. Bidding is currently underway with the bids ranging from $3,100-$6,800, with bids being accepted until January 9th, 2011. You can view the bidding page by clicking here!

This money will go to the United Way’s Hometown Huddle program which features the help of NFL players to help promote active activities and exercise for children, as well as educating kids on the dangers of an inactive lifestyle. The 2010 football season marks the 37th year that NFL has worked with the United Way.
