While Ford Motor Company hasn’t officially introduced the 2018 Ford Mustang, a video posted to the YouTube account of the enthusiast community Mustang6g appears to reveal the restyled pony car from every side – most notably showing off the facelifted front end.

It has been rumored for some time now that the Ford Mustang would soon be getting a refreshed exterior, but with the current Mustang arriving for the 2015 model year, many people figured that it would at least be a couple more years before Ford introduced a new look. However, with what appears to be an official Ford B-roll video showing the 2018 Mustang GT hitting the internet yesterday afternoon, it looks like the bestselling sporty car in America is getting a new face for the upcoming 2018 model year.

Now, before getting into the details of the 2018 Ford Mustang refresh, I should point out that while this appears to be an official Ford Motor Company video, it was posted on YouTube by the Mustang enthusiast community at Mustang6g.com. That group has been pretty consistent with their information over the past several years, so I am inclined to believe that this video is legit and this is the 2018 Ford Mustang GT.

This could be fake, but I believe this to be a Ford video and I believe that the car shown above is the 2018 Mustang GT.

A New Face for the Mustang
While we are likely to learn of more changes for the 2018 Ford Mustang, the most significant change in the video below appears to be the new front end. The shapes of the grille and headlights are similar, but the front of this Mustang appears to be slightly wider than the current 2017 models and there appears to be a more dramatic downward angle from the hood and fenders to the headlights and grille. This gives the 2018 Mustang a lower, angrier look up front while the completely restyled lower front fascia presents a far more aggressive feel than the current models.

Next, we can see that the hood of this yellow 2018 Ford Mustang GT appears to have larger heat extracting vents and the sculpted lines of the hood look to have been shifted outward – continuing the widened look of this new pony car.

Finally, it is hard to tell from this video, but it looks as though the front fenders of this Mustang are a bit wider as well, as there is definitely more metal on the outside of the headlights on this 2018 Mustang than there is on the 2015-2017 models. The body might not measure wider, but the styling of this new front end most certainly presents the look of a wider, lower performance car.

Also, while the back end of this 2018 Ford Mustang appears to be similar to the current models, this Mustang has a new rear spoiler – which is said in the details to be part of the 2018 Performance Pack.

Now that this video is being circulated and discussed, it should only be a matter of time before Ford Motor Company rolls out all of the official information on the 2018 Mustang lineup, but in the meantime, check out the video below and tell us what you think in our comment section!

It is absolutely terrible. Ugly, looks nothing like a mustang . Since 2015 has gotten worse. 11-14 still absolutely best and most beautiful. Period.

So I'm not a magazine editor however as a Mustang fan, there are basic trends that repeat themselves in the evolution of every Mustang generation. After the debut of a generation of the Mustang Ford releases the track oriented special - in this generation the GT350, the previous the BOSS 302, the GT500. After a couple of years some of the features of the specialty car show up on the GT. So lower hood - from GT350, MagnaRide Shocks - from GT 350, wider front end - from the GT350. They've gone above and beyond the usual as the plasma-arc process is now used to create the cylinder liner. So yeah I anticipated all the functional changes of the body, check my posts it's there. Not that I deserve any credit, any Mustang observer knew that was coming. We knew eventually the Coyote would get direct injection, my guess is the guy that argued for the solid axle in the S197 has either learned his lesson or has retired, finally....
