The 2023 Subaru Solterra is finally coming for battery-electric SUV shoppers, but when can you take delivery? The 2023 Solterra is being shipped this fall, but most are already pre-sold to customers. Customers who need to order the new EV can still use the new online configurator and see which trim is best for them before using the Subaru retailer's new model pipeline.
Which of the three new trim levels is the best for you? Subaru of America recently put an all-new Solterra configurator tool online to check the different trim levels with standard features, color selection, and images for each model.
What is the price of the Solterra?
The 2023 Solterra is offered in Premium, Limited, and Touring. Pricing for the Solterra Premium trim level starts at $46,220. The Limited trim carries a starting manufacturer's suggested retail price of $49,720. The top-of-the-line Touring trim is priced at $53,220. Prices include destination and delivery fees ($1,225). Subaru says US retailers set the actual price and may charge more.
The Solterra comes with five exterior paint options, Harbor Mist Gray Pearl ($395), Elemental Red Pearl ($395), Cosmic White Pearl ($395), or Galactic Black and Smoked Carbon at no charge. Two-tone paint is available for $890.
Note: Prices are before a potential Federal tax credit of up to $7,500. In addition, the Solterra may qualify for additional state incentives, including single-rider carpool lane access in California. For more information on the tax credit, go here.
What's new for 2023?
The Solterra is all-new and comes standard with a Symmetrical all-wheel-drive, X-Mode for all-weather performance, 8.3-inches of ground clearance, standard EyeSight safety technology, and up to a 228-mile range. It's available in all 50 states.
The all-electric SUV delivers a total of 215 horsepower and 249 lb.-ft. of torque from its front and rear electric motors. Subaru says with DC fast charging; the Solterra can charge up to 80 percent of its total battery capacity in under an hour.
How efficient is the new all-electric 2023 Solterra?
The EPA says the new EV gets an estimated 114/94 city/highway and 104 combined MPGe for the Solterra Premium trim level. The Limited and Touring trims levels get an estimated 111/93 city/highway and 102 combined MPGe.
Subaru is finalizing two possible offers for reservation holders, including an EVgo Charging Credit or money towards purchasing and installing a Home Level 2 Charger by QMerit.
With the purchase or lease of a new Solterra, customers will receive up to 10 days of Subaru Just Drive Rental at no charge from their participating Subaru retailer. This program allows the rental of Subaru vehicles through participating Subaru retailers.
The 2023 Subaru Solterra is the Japanese automaker's first all-electric model and arrives this winter. Most, if not all, of the 2023 models are sold to customers. Customers who order now will likely get the 2024 Solterra model year. Stay tuned to Torque News for additional updates as they become available.
