Elon Musk Dares Portland Residents Threatening to Vandalize Tesla Vehicles, Says “Go Ahead, Make My Day”

Elon Musk has chosen to respond definitely after Tesla drivers started to receive threatening messages from people who expressed dislike for Musk. However, in response, the Tesla CEO dares the people and says, “Go ahead, make my day.”

Elon Musk’s rightward shift and warm embrace of President-elect Donald Trump have put him at odds with the largest group that buys Tesla vehicles—environmentally conscious liberals.

As Elon Musk's rift with the left grows, some individuals are now going so far as to threaten not just Musk but anyone who buys a Tesla vehicle.

One such Tesla owner from Portland recently shared the thinly veiled threat he found taped to his Tesla Model Y, which his neighbor purportedly wrote.

The Tesla Model Y owner shared the threatening note on X, which was later seen by Elon Musk. Surprisingly, Elon Musk has responded by daring the individuals who are threatening to vandalize Tesla vehicles.

The note reads…

“Hi, neighbor!

I hope you're having a fun holiday season.

Sorry for the note, but I notice this is a Tesla. I am worried that due to recent political troubles, your car will soon be subject to vandalism or worse. Portland is kind of a quirky town, and some citizens may or may not be prone to shenanigans due to your car being built by president-elect Elons Musk.

I have heard rumors that Teslas may be targeted, and I would hate for my neighbors to be subject to this inconvenience. We have enough on our plate and I know firsthand that a broken window or a popped tire can ruin one's week.

Hopefully, none of these rumors are true, and I am overreacting by taping this to your car. But just in case, I have compiled a list of similar electric cars for you to consider on the back of this page.

Happy Holidays!

From,

A Concerned Fellow Portlander.”

On the back of the note, the “concerned” citizen includes a list of electric vehicles the Model Y owner should consider.

Below is the list of vehicles he suggests…

“Alternative vehicles to your Tesla Model Y

Kia EV6

Hyundai Ioniq 5

Ford Mustang Mach-E

Volkswagon ID.4

Honda Prologue

Audi Q4 E-Tron

Volvo XC40 Recharge

Hyundai Kona Electric

Chevrolet Blazer EV

Toyota bZ4X

Chevrolet Equinox EV”

Given the anti-Tesla message, it’s not surprising the content of the note did not thrill Elon Musk and other Tesla fans.

Having said that, most other company CEOs will likely respond with a note from their legal team or PR team calling for unity and pointing out that violence has no place in our democracy. However, Musk has chosen to take the defiant route.

In response to the note, Musk writes…

“Anyone who vandalizes a Tesla will have a criminal record.

Go ahead, make my day…”

It’s not clear if Musk is simply referring here to the laws already in place or whether the Tesla CEO is perhaps looking to use his new influence in the upcoming administration to prosecute people who attack his company’s products particularly.

Whatever the case, it’s interesting to see how much the natural base of Tesla buyers has shifted over the past couple of years. Buying a Tesla vehicle has always been a slightly political decision; however, it’s now controversial in a completely opposite direction.

The threats to vandalize Tesla vehicles in Portland are unacceptable and should be condemned outright. Targeting your neighbors’ property, regardless of personal opinions about the cars they drive or the companies behind them, is not just disrespectful—it’s wrong.

Destroying or threatening to destroy someone else’s belongings is not a form of protest; it’s an act of hostility that creates fear and distrust within the community. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, free from the worry that their property will be damaged by those who disagree with their choices.

We must remember that communities thrive on respect and understanding. Disagreements are inevitable, but resorting to intimidation or violence solves nothing and only serves to tear people apart. It’s important for everyone to stand firmly against such behavior and promote constructive, lawful ways to express opinions. Threatening or harming your own neighbors is not the answer—it’s a step in the wrong direction.

I find it illuminating that the focus of this article is Elon Musk's reaction to threats of violence rather than the abhorrent individuals who are brazenly threatening their own neighbor's property.

~Speaks volumes about how irrational and unbalanced the far left are.
