Tesla Cybertruck Owners Report They are Getting Harassed By Toyota Prius Drivers on the Road

Multiple Cybertruck owners report receiving negative comments from Toyota Prius drivers on the road. Looking at the issue a bit more, there appears to be a major divide taking place in the electric vehicle world.

There is an unexpected divide going on in the environmentally conscious electrified vehicle world. The original ecologically conscious vehicle owners—Toyota Prius drivers—seem less than thrilled with the Cybertruck’s entrance into the same group.

I have been noticing this Cybertruck versus Prius sentiment for weeks; however, this divide recently came to the forefront in a fascinating back-and-forth in the Cybertruck Owners Only Facebook group.

The whole discussion started with a post by Sajad Ahmadi describing the negative comments he received from Toyota Prius drivers on the road.

Sajad is a Cybertruck owner from San Marcos, California, and here is how he explains the negativity he has received from Toyota Prius drivers.

“Hahahaha, I had this loser who was driving in the opposite direction of me in a PRIUS come close to my truck, slowed down, kept giving me a thumbs down HAHAHAHA people man….”

At this point, you might think this is an isolated incident; however, in the comments, other Cybertruck owners chimed in, stating that they have experienced similar issues with Toyota Prius drivers.

Bryan Billings, another Cybertruck owner, writes, “Happened to me a few times. Polarized by fake media and politics.”

This is surprising enough. Looking at things from the surface, most people would assume that Cybertruck owners and Prius drivers are natural allies. However, the situation appears to be different on the road.

In a previous article I covered, a Cybertruck driver was complaining that women were laughing at him on the road. In that instance, as evidence of his tolerating character, he said, “I not only don’t like the Toyota Prius, I hate it. But I’m not going to pull up to a driver of a Prius and feign hysteria because they’re so ridiculous. To each their own. Whatever floats your boat.”

This is yet another fascinating example. Of all the vehicles he could have pointed out as not liking, the Cybertruck driver chose to highlight the Toyota Prius.

Going back to Sajad’s post, the sentiment amongst other Cybertruck owners appears to be similar—Prius drivers are not fans of Cybertruck owners, and the sentiment is true vice versa.

Another Cybertruck owner, Caesar Harris, speaking about Toyota Prius drivers, writes, “I love to see those low lives remind me how high we are.”

Overall, looking at the comments, Cybertruck drivers appear to be unhappy with Prius owners and vice versa.

Personally, I find this quite surprising. Supposedly, both groups are made up of environmentally conscious car buyers; however, the two factions don’t seem to get along for some reason.

As with most Tesla stories lately, the sentiment suggests that the disagreement between Prius and Cybertruck owners has some political nature.

As Elon Musk increasingly becomes a political figure, so have Tesla vehicles. Looking at the comment section, it appears that Cybertruck drivers and Prius owners generally have opposing political views.

I did not see Elon Musk’s political views going so far as to tear apart the electric vehicle world. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.
