Consumer Reports Most Fuel-Efficient Hybrid SUVs

An update on Consumer Reports latest listing of fuel-efficient small and midsized SUV model recommendations that can save you money without sacrificing the utility consumers want in today’s SUV.

According to a recent Consumer Reports newsletter, fuel economy is a big factor toward rating their latest small and midsized SUV vehicle choices they recommend for new car shoppers who want both SUV utility and fuel efficiency to meet their driving needs.

Among the more than 50 vehicle tests are fuel-economy measurements. The numbers are derived from a precision flow meter and are rounded to the nearest mile per gallon,” stated CR’s recent newsletter.

Overall mileage is calculated from equal portions of city and highway driving. SUVs are bought and tested with all-wheel drive.”

Fuel-Efficient Models Identified Are (almost) All Hybrids

Their latest recommendations omit plug-in hybrids (with the exception of one from Ford) and electric vehicles with a focus primarily on hybrids due to the fact that hybrids are the most fuel-efficient models you will find at an affordable price.CR analysts state that all of the SUVs featured returned 30 mpg overall or better in their road and highway tests.
