"I have been waiting three months for Honda to get the parts for my 2024 Honda CR-V recall."
Like Leo, owners of the 2024 Honda CR-V are expressing their frustration with the recent compact SUV recall. It's revealing to see CR-V owners sharing their experiences on the Honda CR-V Community Facebook page, with many reporting that their Honda dealer keeps telling them parts are unavailable and they have to wait.
Leo says,
"Every time I call the dealership to schedule the recall on my 2024 Honda CR-V, they keep giving me the same response: they don't have the parts available. Is this happening to anyone else?"
Here are relevant comments from other 2024 CR-V owners,
Abril Cruz Luna says, When I called after it had first been announced, they said they didn't have the parts available yet, but I received a letter letting me know the parts have arrived and to schedule. That was about three months ago, and I'm ready to call another dealer.
Tom Richter shares his experience, The dealer tried to do the same thing to me. Call Honda Customer Care - not the dealer - and open a claim with Honda. The person I spoke to got me scheduled when the dealer refused.
Mellissa L. Valle, Honda Customer Care is Great when dealers don't want to help or work with you.
Kim Kleine Biles, My local dealership told me week after week that the parts weren't available. Suddenly, they were available that week - first come, first serve. I showed up the next day at 7 am when the service department opened and had my recall service performed. Be consistent about calling the dealership.
Paweł Wójtowicz, I had an appointment scheduled over a month in advance. They canceled the day before due to a lack of parts. I'm supposed to go in again at the end of March. We'll see.
What are the 2024 Honda CR-V Recalls?
The 2024 Honda CR-V has had multiple recalls, including issues with the tire identification number, steering gearbox, and fuel pump. These recalls were issued due to safety concerns and potential risks to the vehicle's performance.
Tire identification number
- The 2024 CR-V was recalled because the tire identification number (TIN) was missing the four-digit date code. This issue violated the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
Steering gearbox
- The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which could cause difficulty steering.
Fuel pump
- A potential issue with the fuel pump could lead to a fuel leak and potentially a fire. This recall affects 2023–2025 CR-V Hybrid models.
Other issues
Lemon Law Experts says, “The 2024 CR-V has also been the subject of complaints about the electrical system, engine performance, and braking functionality. Some owners have reported premature brake wear and air conditioning issues.”

A Reddit user who works at a Honda dealer has this insight:
ermgrom, I work in parts at a Honda dealer and can confirm limited parts are available for the fuel pump recall. We aren't even able to order them at the moment; Honda divides them up between dealers and sends us a couple when they can.
For now, we are holding them for people who are having an issue until they become more available. If your car is running fine, don't worry about it. I understand wanting your car 'up to code,' but you must be patient with these recalls.
Conclusion and Questions For Honda CR-V Owners:
Honda dealer service departments are busy and must perform the recall on your vehicle. However, parts are not always available because of the large number of CR-V models affected.
2024 Honda CR-V Customers will likely get a quicker response by calling Honda Customer Service and requesting an appointment to perform the recall. If you’ve been waiting on your Honda dealer, consider reaching out to Honda Customer Service for updates and to express your concerns.
A Honda CR-V Owners Club member speedgar1971 says, There are no parts or repair procedures released yet and no timetable for any remedies. The fuel pump recall has language that states a fuel leak can lead to a fire and injuries.
I asked the service manager if he would be comfortable turning his family loose in a car that the manufacturer states may crash and burn.
