Wagoneer's large, luxurious family hauler is singled out for holding its value better than most SUVs of the same size. See which Jeep tops the same list.
For the second straight year, the premium 2023 Wagoneer by Jeep is predicted to hold its value best among large SUVs. That is according to the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards. The Residual Value Award is important in an industry where large vehicles are often $100,000 and above. Buyers who are looking for value want a vehicle that will be worth something when it comes time to sell or trade-in. The awards project which models will hold the highest percentage of their manufacturer’s suggested retail price following a three-year period of ownership.
2023 Wagoneer
Jeep reintroduced the Wagoneer in recent years because so many families want a big, comfortable vehicle. Jeep loaded the Wagoneer with luxury but kept the capability that the original Wagoneer was known for. The result is a luxury vehicle that is fun to drive in virtually all weather conditions. As I first reported, the 2022 Wagoneer took home the same award last year.
“This repeat distinction demonstrates Wagoneer is more than a trailblazer for cutting-edge innovation and style,” says U.S. Head of Sales Jeff Kommor. “Wagoneer consistently delivers that most fundamental requirement of a sales transaction – lasting value for the customer. And that’s something we will never lose sight of.”
The Wagoneer is big but agile with a 420-horsepower Hurricane Twin Turbo I-6 engine. The Wagoneer kicks out 468 lb.-ft. of torque. The Wagoneer delivers best-in-class towing capability, rear-seat legroom, as well as overall passenger volume.
New for 2024 Wagoneer
For 2024, Wagoneer expands availability of the acclaimed Hurricane I-6 family by offering the 420-horsepower engine as standard equipment across all model lines. That means all of the Wagoneers will qualify for the best-in-class, 10-000-pound tow rating. The Wagoneer will still put passenger comfort first. The Wagoneer will maintain its rating for best-in-class passenger volume, second row legroom and third-row legroom.
J.D. Power has also named the Jeep Wrangler as this year’s top performer among off-road utility vehicles in its annual residual value awards. The Wrangler award includes the 4xe plug-in hybrid model.
New for 2024 Jeep Wrangler
Refreshed for 2024, the Wrangler offers larger tires, more ground clearance and improved traction. Jeep says the changes help the Wrangler improve its world-beating 4x4 capability. The Wrangler is also adding new amenities, interior refinements, advanced technology and safety features. The Wrangler is adding an exclusive Sky One-Touch power top. It will also have 12-way power-adjustable front seats. The Wrangler will also have a best-in-class 12.3-inch touchscreen radio. Also new, first- and second-row side-curtain airbags are now standard equipment.
“This year, we celebrated the delivery of our five-millionth Jeep Wrangler,” Kommor says of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition delivered to a customer in Camden, New Jersey.
The Wrangler’s residual value award includes 4xe models. The Jeep Wrangler has been America’s best-selling plug-in hybrid since second quarter, 2021.
“You don’t resonate that well in the marketplace without understanding the value equation,” Kommor adds.
