As we first reported, Jeep has hit a huge milestone selling its 5 millionth Jeep Wrangler. Now Jeep has tracked down the 5-millionth new owner of the Wrangler.

I told you yesterday that Jeep recorded the sale of its 5- millionth Jeep Wrangler on Monday night. Jeep has now released more details about the landmark sale. The 5-millionth version of the iconic Wrangler was sold in Camden, New Jersey. Not surprisingly, the vehicle that pushes Jeep over the milestone is one of the popular plug-in hybrid models.

5-Millionth Jeep Wrangler

Jeep says the five-millionth Jeep Wrangler sold is a 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon 20th Anniversary Edition. It is similar to the one shown in the photo but the color of the historic Wrangler is Earl, a grey color that was introduced in 2023.

The owner of the five-millionth Jeep will receive $5,000 worth of Jeep® Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar and lifetime Jeep Wave customer care benefits.

“With 5 million Wranglers sold, the Jeep brand continues to grow, fueled by the unwavering passion of the Jeep global community,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “With legendary 4x4 capability, open-air-freedom and a timeless design, the Wrangler embodies the spirit and the soul of the Jeep brand.

“More than 80% of the 5 million Wranglers sold since 1986 are still on the road, having fun out there and showcasing the amazing staying power of the vehicle. Our new 2024 Wrangler raises the bar once again as the most capable Wrangler yet, with more technology, safety features and refinement,” Morrison added.

Fifth-Generation 2024 Jeep Wrangler Arriving Soon

The first Jeep Wrangler was introduced in 1986 as a 1987 model, replacing the Jeep CJ and continuing the legacy established by the original 1941 Willys MB.

The new 2024 Jeep Wrangler delivers legendary off-road capability, authentic Jeep design, advanced powertrains, superior on- and off-road dynamics and advanced safety and technology features. The Wrangler 4xe is rated at 49 MPGe and is America’s best-selling plug-in hybrid.

In 2024, the Jeep Wrangler will be sold in several new markets around the world. The Jeep Wrangler will be on sale in Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Australia and elsewhere.

The 2024 Jeep lineup includes Sport, Sport S, Sahara, Willys, Rubicon, new Rubicon X, High Altitude and Rubicon 392.

When announcing the milestone during a video conference yesterday Jim Morrison said, “There are 5 million members of the Jeep family, it doesn’t matter what kind of Wrangler you are in, you are member of the Jeep family.”

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will start arriving in North American dealerships this quarter.
