When the 2012 Ford Focus ST hits the streets in 40 markets around the world, it will be the first time that Ford has offered a performance car on a global level (in similar form) and today as the world prepares for the 2012 Frankfurt Motor Show, Ford unveiled the production version of the new high performance focus 5-door hatchback.

The 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show officially opens on September 13th but with information trickling out from automakers around the world for months, this year’s Frankfurt show promises to bring a plethora of new model debuts to the global automotive industry – including names like the Lancia Stratos, the Ford Focus ST in production form, the new European Chevrolet Camaro Convertible and the twin rear wheel drive sports coupes from Subaru and Toyota.

Detroit is like Cleveland, Youngstown or Buffalo. It is an urban center that's easy to kick when it's down because there are too many things to fix and not enough money to fix them. But one thing Detroit has that the other have-not cities lack is a world-class auto show, which compared with other auto shows is still the best in the world.
