General Motors has issued two new teaser images of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, this time showing the exhaust tips and the LT1 engine while also announcing that the next gen Camaro SS will have dual mode exhaust, adjustable drive modes and the high tech magnetic suspension setup from the 5th gen ZL1 and the C7 Corvette.

When the rumor surfaced that the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro would debut in mid-May, I had speculated that it could debut as the 2015 Indy 500 Pace Car and even though we know that the mid-May debut is actually a standalone event in Detroit, I still think that the 6th gen Camaro could lead the Indy 500 field.

Fox News recently spoke with General Motors’ Mark Reuss about the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro and while this might come as a surprised to some – GM’s Executive Vice President of Global Product Development expects that the 6th gen Camaro will beat the new Ford Mustang in pretty much every way.

The Chevrolet Camaro had a fairly slow month in March 2015, but just when it looked like the popularity of the new C7 Corvette had started to fade, the new Stingray and Z06 posted the second best sales month of the generation – trailing only the very first month that the C7 was available and beating the Porsche lineup by a massive margin.

General Motors offered up their newest batch of details on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro today and the most important bit of information is that the 6th generation Camaro will weigh at least 200 pounds less than the comparable outgoing model – which could put it in the same weight range as the 2015 Ford Mustang.

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 comes in certain forms comes with high performance Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires that are intended strictly for summer use, but those owners who are receiving their super-Vettes during the cold months are finding that the tires are cracking very badly – and Michelin’s only advice is to not move the car in temperatures under 20 degrees.
