I have encountered many problems with head units from my company's leased vehicles. But one thing I did with every Subaru I have owned since 2010, I replaced the head unit with a Kenwood navigation system. Have never had a problem and the rear camera works every time along with navigation in Canada and USA. A refurbished Kenwood head unit cost around $350 on Amazon and another $150 to install. Best $500 spent without all the pain and returning to Subaru dealers for fixes that don't seem to work.
