I bought a new 2022 Toyota XLE PRIUS I now have just 3500 miles on it. It has the 1.8 liter engine. It started knocking when under a load a few weeks ago. It went from 52 miles per gal. to just 42 miles per gal . No water in the oil, coolant is down 60% between Max an min. I'm 79 even though it sounded like a rod, normally a bad rod bearing doesn't knock under a load but when you are backing off. Plan to call the dealer tomorrow.
Any ideas on how to approach the dealer?
