I was basically pressed into leasing a new 2021 Elantra due to things beyond my control, several of which were with the dealer, including "surprise" costs of converting to a loan to purchase after being initially told 1 price and then the actual costs being significantly higher. I was, and still am, extremely unhappy with the dealer and the hard sell to get something new as soon as we walked in the door to buy the Sonata we had been leasing. I loved that car, and I have never in my life been unhappy about buying a car and I will be until I can get rid of this thing which I am stuck with for the next few years. I got the car on April 10 and the windshield cracked while it sat in the parking lot (full sun on a hot day) while I was at work. I did not catch a rock or anything else that would cause me to have damage to the glass. This was in addition to ongoing issues with the dealer. I have loved my previous Hyundais and bought 3 cars from this dealer previously. I highly doubt I will buy another Hyundai, and I certainly won't buy from that dealer again. They tried to tell me that it would be free to fix through insurance, but at the moment its looking more like a $500 bill for a car that's first payment was due the day before the glass cracked. So in all I will have had to pay almost $3000 for a car I didn't want in the first place within a month of getting it. I almost could have afforded my old car for that money.
