I have a 2021 Hyundai - had it for less than 3 months and a small pebble hit window. I was out of state at the time, and within a half hour it expanded across my window. The impact was not even that loud, and did not expect any issues. A few days later a second crack appeared.
Over the past 40 years driving abound the country I have unfortunately had a few items hit my front windshield, with only one small crack (it was only once and after putting in some window crack "glue" it was okay and did not spread in the following years).
Because of a glass/manufacturing shortage it took a while for the shop to even get the glass in (they ordered manufacturer glass, not an aftermarket) After this happening and reading about this being a defective windshield, I hope it does not happen again and thinking I made the mistake of not getting the (cheaper, but better made) after-market windshield, which would have also taken less time to get.
I am usually a complainer, but after 40 years of driving hundreds of thousands of miles on multiple cars and having to replace a windshield with less than three months driving a new car (and it was not even a large rock/object), I believe I am understandably upset.
