I bought a new 2021 Santa Fe
I bought a new 2021 Santa Fe on May 3rd and bought the dealers windshield insurance (should of been a sign). Three weeks later the windshield cracked about 8 inches starting on drivers side bottom corner. Submitted claim next day and Safelite ordered windshield early June; coincidentally from the same dealership as I purchased. As of this date I am still waiting for the windshield to arrive. I've stopped numerous times at Safelite and also called parts department at dealership to inquire. At first they'd give a new arrival date a week or two down the road. In July, the dealership told me most of the new windshields were arriving damaged. Now everyone is blaming the nationwide logistics backlog. Currently from outside the vehicle, the crack starts in the southeast corner and goes north-northwest about 14 inches up then turns straight west and continues across most of the passenger side then turns south-southwest towards the far southwest corner where there's about three to four inches still holding the glass together. The outside glass where the crack started is beginning to separate a bit, but the inside glass is still all intact. Like others mentioned, I too suspect this damage is being caused by some other structural problem.
