We just noticed a small chip high on drivers side of windshield. Four days later it turned into a 6 in crack. We rarely use the car and once a week take it on the highway for short periods. Neither of us heard or saw and rocks, debris, etc. hit it. It just appeared. The replacement cost at Safelite is $2000. I took it to my dealer and contacted Subaru Customer Advocacy to explain my concerns about the integrity of their windshields going forward.
