With the stop/start feature…
With the stop/start feature the one thing that is not discussed is the additional wear on the battery and starter. Per my local dealer to replace the starter it is over $800. When I drive to work, I can start my car once or potentially restart my engine 11 times. Today was 8 total. Another thing is when you pull into a parking lot the engine will stop and when I put it in park it restarts. That is not only inefficient, it is also very annoying. The best feature Subaru could have added is to allow me to shut off the system permanently. I normally reach down to press the button to disable the system but I have to do it every time I start the car. The little bit of gas and emissions savings will not cover the additional long term cost.
