This happened to me. Here's the explanation: If the car has a failure that the software believes will make a fire hazard with the battery, the onboard computer sends a signal to a pyrotechnic fuse that blows and disconnects the main battery from the entire car. Now the car no longer has power to drive, so it coasts to a stop. The car's electronics are still powered by a small low voltage battery that can only last 10 mins and then the car is completely dead, including the doors, windows, frunk, trunk, hazard lights, the main screen, etc. It's a horrible design. No one tells you that before you buy.
