It's because he put weird raptor lights on. Raptor lights always makes things break.
But in all reality, I'd validate it's not a bad ground on anything that was touched when installing them. Grounds in weird places are commonly causes of electrical gremlins all over. Ask BMW. As electronics get more advanced, small voltage variances can mean more to the I/O pins. Since there isnt an earth ground, it has to compare the - and + and just look at the difference to see if the - is a high or low input and when that difference becomes too small, like with a ground issue, all sorts of things can go wacky.
