Several Tesla Cybertruck Owners Are Reporting a Sudden Spike in Insurance Premiums Following the Recent String of Tesla Vandalisms – State Farm and Progressive Policyholders Report Upto a 33% Increase

Tesla Cybertruck owners are experiencing a sudden increase in insurance premiums following a recent rise in Tesla vandalism incidents. Some owners report premium increases of up to 33%. Nevertheless, these owners state they will not sell their Cybertruck.

A Cybertruck owner from Colorado, who goes by the username M0unt41, says his insurance premium suddenly shot up this month.

The Cybertruck owner reports that his insurance payment increased by 23% without any explanation, and he now fears this increase may be connected to the recent surge of vandalism and hate directed at Tesla in general and the Cybertruck in particular.

Despite being unhappy about his insurance premium increasing, the Cybertruck owner insists that he loves his Cybertruck, will not sell it, and is happy to pay a higher premium just to stick it to the anti-Tesla protesters.

The Colorado Cyberteruck owner shared his story on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum.

He writes…

“Tesla insurance rates increase

Mine just went up 23%. Are other people seeing this as well? Does the spike have anything to do with vandalism?

I’m not giving mine up because screw the protesters… I will keep paying just to piss them off.”

Living under the fear of having your vehicle vandalized is already bad enough, but now, because of these vandals, the Cybertruck owner has to pay more to insure his vehicle.

He continues to write…

“I’ve insured my Cybertruck with State Farm. I just received a quote from Progressive, and it is even higher than State Farm's. It seems like there is an increase across the board.”

This is not an ideal situation whatsoever; however, the Colorado Cybertruck owner doesn’t seem to be the only one in this predicament.

Several other Cybertruck owners with various insurance providers are also reporting that their insurance premiums have unexpectedly increased.

A fellow Cybertruck owner who goes by the username Gigahorse reports that his insurance payment for the Cybertruck has also suddenly increased by 33%.

The Cybertruck owner says that for the past 16 months he has been driving his truck, his rates have been steady; however, without any explanation, his premium just jumped recently.

The Cybertruck owner believes that the recent surge in anti-Tesla and, specifically, Cybertruck-related crimes is responsible for the sudden increase in insurance rates.

He writes…

“Progressive Insurance's 6-month policy renewal was this last Thursday, and my insurance premium went up 33%.”

A sudden 33% increase in insurance rates without any apparent reason is not ideal. However, to make matters worse, the Cybertruck owner says he has been shopping around to get a better deal for his Cybertruck coverage, but he is getting even higher quotes.

He continues to write…

“I'm looking for other options, but nothing much better so far.”

And if there is any doubt about whether the rise in insurance rates is connected to the recent surge in anti-Tesla violence, the Cybertruck owner states that he is among the early buyers who purchased his Cybertruck in December 2023.

However, his insurance premium remained steady for 16 months until it suddenly spiked this month.

He writes…

“Insurance rates have been steady on the Cybertruck for 16 months, and all of a sudden this month they go up 33%?????????? Has to do with all the news, etc.”
